Jewson joist timber is graded C16, marking it as strong enough to take the weight needed by floor and roof joists. With wooden joists treated to Use Class 2 and 3, you have more choice for interior and above-ground exterior work, with confidence that your wood is protected.
Our kiln-dried green timber joists are carefully manufactured, planed along four edges and cut to length. The corners are eased for more comfortable handling, making our joist timber suitable for manual lifting and carrying, especially over the course of a long-term construction project.
We offer a variety of timber joist sizes, with a large range of widths between 45mm and 220mm, in standard thicknesses of 45mm and 47mm. Priced per metre, you can order as much as you need, with pre-cut lengths available for immediate collection in-branch and cutting & milling facilities at many Jewson builders' merchants.
Jewson also stock the hardware you need to install wooden joists for a secure and stable finish. Our joist hangers are designed for the job, part of our extensive range of metalwork for fixing and reinforcing timber structures. For lighter fixing when putting up framework, we have plenty of screws to choose from.
Green timber joists are hugely versatile, easy to carry and position into place, and can be cut to length on-site to fit shorter spans where required. All of this comes in the form of a durable, long-lasting and sustainable natural building material, offering great value for money on individual timbers and bulk purchases alike.
