Of course, the first priority is to choose a kitchen style that you love and whatever style inspires you, whether it is modern, traditional or shaker, allocating a significant proportion of your budget on cabinets is money well spent.

Tiles and flooring

Tiles and flooring are those finishing touches that can really help complete a kitchen, however, the cost of buying them can soon mount up. If your current kitchen doesn’t flow as you would like it, perhaps the hob is located in the wrong position or maybe there is a more optimum place for the sink, spending the cash on relocating these services will be money well spent. No matter how amazing your newly installed kitchen looks, if the layout doesn’t work for your household, you will soon become frustrated. Spending time and money to relocate the gas or water supply may seem like a big job but it could pay dividends in the long run and help create the kitchen of your dreams.

On appliances

Within a kitchen the appliances are the most well used items so it makes sense to opt for appliances that are of good quality and fit your needs. Of course, you can make savings along the way and not every appliance needs to be top of the range, for those with a passion for cooking, for example, investing in a statement range with extra hobs will likely be money well spent, while those less inspired in the kitchen could opt for a more standard oven/hob.

On installation

While it may seem like something you can tackle yourself, paying a professional kitchen fitter to install your new kitchen is money well spent. Not only will your kitchen fitter have the right tools and equipment to ensure a high-quality finish, but chances are they will be quicker and be able to make suggestions to maximise your space even further.

On storage solutions

Within every home storage is key to ensuring it is well organised and runs efficiently, so when investing in a new kitchen, don’t be tempted to scrimp on storage solutions.
