Jewson timber battens are ideal for use as roofing laths, as well as for many more general purposes including fencing and garden structures like pagodas and gazebos. Roofing battens are treated to a number of standards including Use Class 2 for interior work and BS 5534 for roofing timber.
Available in a variety of colours, including treated red wooden battens and blue timber battens, these timbers are easily identified on-site to ensure they are used where they are needed, especially to provide the extra strength required on roofs. This also makes them easily identifiable to inspectors such as NHBC and LA Building Control.
Jewson stock wood battens in a number of widths and thicknesses to suit your project, with prices charged by the metre. With most items in stock at all times, we will generally supply the closest match from our stock for the lengths you order, up to the correct total meterage. For specific lengths please speak to your local branch about our cutting facilities.
Treated timber battens give a solid framework to your roof, ready for any of our range of roofing materials to be installed on top. For improved energy efficiency and more comfortable interiors all year round, remember to also install loft & roof insulation as part of your construction work or refurbishment.
