Warming up to underfloor heating
Is there anything worse than going to the bathroom in the middle of the night only to be met with freezing cold tiles? Bathrooms can be cold, damp rooms, but one easy way to add comfort to these spaces for your customers, is to install underfloor heating (UFH).
These systems aren’t as expensive or difficult to install as you may think – making them a perfect solution for any home. Here, with the help of UFH specialists, Warmup, we’re discussing the benefits of UFH, and offering some guidance on selecting the right system for your next project.
Energy efficient
The main benefit of UFH has to be its efficiency. It takes less energy to reach an ideal temperature than a traditional system that uses radiators. By using radiant heat technology, (gently warming the objects and people in a room – in the same way as the sun) instead of simply warming the air (like central heating systems do) the process is far more sustainable, but offers the same level of comfort. This means lower running costs for your customers, saving them up to 10% on their heating bills.
If your customers are really looking to reduce their carbon footprint, UFH systems can also be connected to renewable energy sources, such as ground or air source heat pumps, and biomass energy boilers.
Adaptable
Underfloor heating can also be adapted to your customer’s need for added comfort. Warmup’s systems allow responsive zoned heating for a more personalised heating solution. Zoned heating means customers can heat individual rooms without turning the heating on for the whole house. With their intelligent Thermostatic controllers, your customers can control all of this at the touch of the button, even if they’re away from home, so they don’t have to come home to a cold house.
Healthier
You might not think it, but UFH can also improve your customer’s health! Unlike traditional radiators, which can spread dust particles into the atmosphere, UFH keeps this to a minimum, adding to your customer’s comfort.
Ventilation is key in bathrooms, so couple UFH with the Timloc Adapt-Air airbrick kit and you can ensure your jobs are as healthy as possible for your customers.
Space saving
This might sound like a pretty obvious one, but UFH removes the need for bulky radiators, freeing up much-needed space. This means your customers will have extra room to add in features that make a difference to the aesthetics and comfort of their bathrooms, making the rooms look better.
As well as looking good, it feels good too! UFH is far more comfortable than traditional heating systems and feels nice underfoot.
Range of solutions
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to UFH with Warmup, as they have a system for every job. So, to help you select the right product, here’s a quick overview:
• Dual coated insulation boards – the perfect addition to any UFH system to provide additional thermal insulation
• StickyMat System – a great option for a quick installation. The mats can also be repositioned without losing their adhesion
• Loose Wire System – an ultra-thin dual-core heating element that will not raise floor levels
